SPONSORING
Sponsoring is the term used instead of recruiting which initially confused me, because the meaning of the word sponsor to me is that someone who will give this to you for free or someone who will shoulder the expenses for you. So i thought that when I became a sponsor it means i will pay for the registration of my new member or that my sponsor will pay for my registration fee. But in Amway business sponsor means someone who introduce the business to you. A person to helped opened your mind about Amway business, showed you some products and explain the marketing plan. So when you invited a person for a business sharing (that's what i call my appointment for prospects) you are already in the process of sponsoring. Once the prospects signed up and became a member, the sponsor now becomes the teacher, motivator, encourager, the example and role model. Whatever the up line does , the down line follows (monkey see-monkey do is Mark Lei's term) or fallow the leader is how we Filipinos say it.

Recognition Night
I had seen many photos of our foreign uplines during the time they were given recognition for the achievements in the business. Most frequently seen are the photos and videos of Mr. Mark Lei receiving his rewards in the many occasions he had climbed the ladder of success in Amway. Most of them in big stage, attended by so many people, dancing big beautiful lights, flowers, confetti. So I wonder how they do it in the Phillipines.
Then the chance came upon to witness the big night for Amway achievers in the Phils. But as always, I came late in the event since I'm have a fulltime day job, I missed the activities before the finale such as the brand rally, games and recognition of those lower ranks where i belong, the 3 percenter. Though lowest in ranks, these are still considered achievers already that they are called to the stage to be recognize by the audience. In the group where I belong, the Filipinos of the Thai group in ADC Shaw, the highest achievement is 15%, I also missed that portion, but i am proud that i know these people who are staiitng from the lowest who will surely rise to the top. And I know I will also rise with them to the top.
I was a bit dissappointed as the highest level being awarded was only EMERALD, but the good thing is that Filipinos are amongst the awardees and not all foreigners. To me ,It meant that we are now much deep into the business that it is now making us rich in our own soil, that we now understand how to do this simple way of earning money and that we can be successful. This is what i wanted to see, Filipinos rising to success. But i still wanted to see more, more Filipinos who are poor, uneducated, handicapped, less fortunate. What i witness was rich people, people who have good education, business people...most of them almost successful in their own field. Then I realized that since these are already rich people having their own businesses, good connections, better education and good life yet they join Amway and became successful. Though success did not come the easy way despite their seemingly advantageous life situation. This reinforced in me that there is nothing easy in this life, rich or poor has to go through their fair share of failures and triumphs.
Witnessing that event and hearing the testimonies of Filipinos experiencing success through Amway business the hard way, reaffirmed in me the commitment to give this business 5 years of my available time which means doing the business during may day off, during vacation leave and at least 2 hours per day after work (either attendimg the trainings or sharing with people).
