SPONSORING
Sponsoring is the term used instead of recruiting which initially confused me, because the meaning of the word sponsor to me is that someone who will give this to you for free or someone who will shoulder the expenses for you. So i thought that when I became a sponsor it means i will pay for the registration of my new member or that my sponsor will pay for my registration fee. But in Amway business sponsor means someone who introduce the business to you. A person to helped opened your mind about Amway business, showed you some products and explain the marketing plan. So when you invited a person for a business sharing (that's what i call my appointment for prospects) you are already in the process of sponsoring. Once the prospects signed up and became a member, the sponsor now becomes the teacher, motivator, encourager, the example and role model. Whatever the up line does , the down line follows (monkey see-monkey do is Mark Lei's term) or fallow the leader is how we Filipinos say it.

BELIEVE
The topic in tonight's training at ADC Shaw by the Thai group is about the concept BELIEVE in Amway business. To be able to succeed in this business we have to believe:
1. in the company (Amway)
2.products
3.marketing plan
4. leaders/team
5.yourself

When is the best time to join?
It was 2nd week of February 2010 when i first set foot at the Amway distribution center in shaw boulevard to meet my former boss who is also a member of Amway. She was already inside the bigger training room when i get into the building so they told me to join the session in the smaller room for first timers.
It took me almost two months before officially joining the business. Why that long, actually I already bought the P2,000.00 investment kit but as long as you haven't submitted the registration form found inside the sealed kit then you are not yet considered a member. I was religiously attending the trainings every Tuesday and Friday even though i always came late since the session starts at 7:00pm and I finished work at the same time too. There is also the travelling time to considered ,work is in Makati while the center is in Shaw Blvd. and I have to brave the jungle of peak hour MRT hype.
I bought the kit last week of February in time to do the product demo for our relatives during my father's birthday lunch. But I submitted the form on March 27, 2010. Why so long? It was because I studied the business and I wanted to reach the 3% mark on my first month, so I already have product orders when I submitted my registration form. Congratulations to me, I'm now a 3% with a cheque from Amway for P239.00 as rebate/commission for reaching that level.
Now is the best time to join Amway, though the business is here in Philippines for 13 years, the business volume is comparable only on the 2nd year of Amway in Thailand, the members are less than 70,000 in a population of almost 100 million. The market is almost empty thus the opportunity to grow is great for people who have a dream and have the will to make their dreams come true. The Phil. company is organized now, regularly doing events to promote the products, on going promotions, heighten training programs. More people are now reaping success in shorter period like platinum in 3 months.
Reason for Joining
WHY DID I JOIN AMWAY?
I joined AMWAY because of an article I read in one of the newsletter of Mr. Larry Gamboa, the mentor of Mr. Bo Sanchez in one of his many investments and the author of "Think Rich Pinoy" . Bo Sanchez is a famous Filipino writer of inspiration books about spiritual and financial blessings and how we can enjoy both. Though I have not read any of his books, i'm truly inspired by the articles I get from being a member of his website. I came across these people through my efforts to look for additional income and internet is surely a very good source of information.
What really got my attention and made a mark in my head was in that particular article of Mr. Gamboa, he mentioned that there are three (3) ways to be rich in this country
1. have a business ( i do not have a capital to put up a business)
2. join a franchising company (this is what he promotes since he has a franchising in the realty business and again I still do not have money to capitalize on his realty franchise)
3. do networking and the best networking company is AMWAY because according to him the products are high quality and the trainings are very good though until now, I have not yet validated if Mr. Gamboa is a member of Amway thus he is promoting them or he simply believes in the company.

iBasically, the reason I joined this business is the same reason other people have, simply to earn more money and be rich using only the least capital investment.

Recognition Night
I had seen many photos of our foreign uplines during the time they were given recognition for the achievements in the business. Most frequently seen are the photos and videos of Mr. Mark Lei receiving his rewards in the many occasions he had climbed the ladder of success in Amway. Most of them in big stage, attended by so many people, dancing big beautiful lights, flowers, confetti. So I wonder how they do it in the Phillipines.
Then the chance came upon to witness the big night for Amway achievers in the Phils. But as always, I came late in the event since I'm have a fulltime day job, I missed the activities before the finale such as the brand rally, games and recognition of those lower ranks where i belong, the 3 percenter. Though lowest in ranks, these are still considered achievers already that they are called to the stage to be recognize by the audience. In the group where I belong, the Filipinos of the Thai group in ADC Shaw, the highest achievement is 15%, I also missed that portion, but i am proud that i know these people who are staiitng from the lowest who will surely rise to the top. And I know I will also rise with them to the top.
I was a bit dissappointed as the highest level being awarded was only EMERALD, but the good thing is that Filipinos are amongst the awardees and not all foreigners. To me ,It meant that we are now much deep into the business that it is now making us rich in our own soil, that we now understand how to do this simple way of earning money and that we can be successful. This is what i wanted to see, Filipinos rising to success. But i still wanted to see more, more Filipinos who are poor, uneducated, handicapped, less fortunate. What i witness was rich people, people who have good education, business people...most of them almost successful in their own field. Then I realized that since these are already rich people having their own businesses, good connections, better education and good life yet they join Amway and became successful. Though success did not come the easy way despite their seemingly advantageous life situation. This reinforced in me that there is nothing easy in this life, rich or poor has to go through their fair share of failures and triumphs.
Witnessing that event and hearing the testimonies of Filipinos experiencing success through Amway business the hard way, reaffirmed in me the commitment to give this business 5 years of my available time which means doing the business during may day off, during vacation leave and at least 2 hours per day after work (either attendimg the trainings or sharing with people).
